What hours are you available?

Dr. Rexroth has morning, afternoon and some after school appointments available.  Although many families would prefer after school times, they tend to be scheduled out in advance.  We ask that you are flexible in your scheduling requests.  Most schools are very supportive of students seeking mental health support and excuse the absences during the school day.

What is the cancellation policy?

It is office policy that appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance.  If you are ill or there is an emergency, please contact Dr. Rexroth about switching to a video session. Emergencies happen, therefore, Carmel Psychology will allow ONE missed or cancelled appointment without fees.  Subsequent cancellations and reschedule requests with less than 24-hour notice or 'no-shows' will be charged 100% of the fees.

Are services covered by insurance?

Dr. Rexroth is considered an out-of-network provider.  That does not necessarily mean that your insurance will not cover the cost of the services. Although Carmel Psychology will not file the billing to your insurance company, a detailed Superbill will be provided which can be filed electronically.  Most companies offer a level of fee reimbursement to the families if an out-of-network deductible has been met.   Please contact your insurance provider with questions regarding coverage and reimbursement.  Services can be paid directly to Dr. Rexroth using Health Savings Cards or debit/credit card.  Payments are made through the patient portal and are expected at the time of service.

What is the process of becoming a new patient?

Typically, the process begins with a 60 to 90 minute intake interview session. For younger patients, it is preferred that only the parent(s) attend the session so  we can talk openly about the strengths and struggles of the child.  For older teen and adolescent patients, they are encouraged to attend the intake with a parent or guardian.  Initial contact and scheduling of new patients is preferred through email.  At the intake, subsequent sessions will be scheduled if needed.

How long are sessions?

Intake sessions are normally 60-90 minutes with therapy sessions lasting 45-55 minutes.  Testing sessions range from 2 to 5 hours of direct testing and another 2-3 hours of scoring and report writing time.  In some instances, a testing session will be broken down into 2 shorter appointments.

Are there medical providers at Carmel Psychology?

There are no medical providers at Carmel Psychology.   We are happy to provide names and resources for local providers or work directly with your pediatrician.

Are you available for telehealth and in person sessions?

Yes, both telehealth and in person sessions are available.

Do you offer free phone consultations?

Finding the right therapeutic fit is important and takes an investment of your time and mine.  It is very difficult to assess the clinical needs, personality style, and appropriate fit for therapy without the benefit of face-to-face meetings.  It is also important for you to have the opportunity to see the office space, meet me personally, and get a sense of what to expect.  When we first meet, we will spend over an hour discussing the needs and goals for services.  This in depth interaction is not taken lightly and deserves more than a brief phone call.
